Episode 230 – Seaton’s Aunt – Part 2

Join us as we voraciously consume the rest of Seaton’s Aunt by Walter de la Mare!

Thanks to Rachel Lackey for ROCKING the reading this week. Outstanding!

We’re off next week for Halloween (why not enjoy one of our readings again?), but will be back November 6th with The Minister’s Black Veil by Nathaniel Hawthorne!

“Marriage, Mr. Withers, was instituted in the privacy of a garden” is a reference to Eden, where marriage was “invented” by Adam and Eve, in privacy, behind the Eden’s walls. Seaton’s Aunt contrasts this privacy with the way that marriage is flaunted today. I hope that clears this up!
