I'm listening to an unabridged audiobook of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, a book I have never read before. The voice performer (Alexander Scourby) is very good.
Lovecraft and Fitzgerald were contemporaries, and both wrote works that were under-appreciated during their lifetimes, but increasingly appreciated posthumously. Moreover, having listened to this podcast, I perceive another thing they have in common: the cadence of their prose when spoken aloud.
