1  Mythos Matters / Lovecraft Literary Talk / Re: Stupid Lovecraft characters on: July 28, 2011, 03:28:20 PM
Hmmm... there's a story in that, I'll wager...

It's called Old Yeller.
2  Mythos Matters / Cthulhu Entertainment & Gaming / Re: Guillermo del Toro, At the Mountains of Madness on: April 03, 2011, 11:58:11 AM
I can picture the conversation already: "Yeah, lets not film classic literature, that doesn't sell, the people want brainless videogame and comic adaptations, because we tell them to. Yeah."
3  Mythos Matters / Cthulhu Entertainment & Gaming / Re: Guillermo del Toro, At the Mountains of Madness on: March 23, 2011, 12:18:10 PM
Hollywood sucks. The HPL historical society would have done the film betther anyway.
4  General Category / General Discussion / Re: H.P. LOVECRAFT THE #1 AUTHER OF HORROR! on: February 16, 2011, 04:40:41 PM
In Holland, he is already more populair then Poe.
5  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Real Mythos Creatures from the Fossil Record on: February 16, 2011, 04:39:09 PM
Anyone got a microscope that is at least strong enough to notice bacteria?
Yeah. You shall never sleep again.
6  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Playing Games with the Great Old Ones: Fandom and Religion on: February 16, 2011, 04:37:18 PM
Post this again when someone killed, discriminated against, or opressed another human being in the name of captain Kirk or the Doctor.
7  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Which Lovecraft race is the Coolest? on: February 16, 2011, 04:33:28 PM
The Great Race. I love how they changed their name when they mastered time travel, just like the Timelords did.

Also I love the starfish Elder Things. I made a study out of echinoderms, and to have a sentient race that borrows from that already alien design just blew my mind.
8  General Category / General Discussion / Re: My review of Stephen Kings UNDER THE DOME on: February 06, 2011, 04:30:19 PM
Yeah I allways found that a bunch of bull. It may very well be all about the journey, but if it ends in a crash, then nobody's gonna be happy.
9  Mythos Matters / Cthulhu Entertainment & Gaming / Re: What would make a good Lovecraft video game? on: December 29, 2010, 03:30:27 PM
I loved the hotel part, and all the rest. The game lost it's appeal at the moment it turned into a FPS for some reason. You know the part.
10  General Category / Episode Discussion / Re: Christmas Poems on: November 25, 2010, 05:19:40 PM
The HPL Historical got two cool albums with distorted christmass songs, including a hillarious one sung by Andrew Leman. Just so you know... that voice is also good at singing.
11  General Category / Episode Discussion / Re: Episode 60 - "The Colour Out of Space," Part 2 on: November 25, 2010, 05:18:27 PM
Great episode.  Probably the most genuinely disturbing story I've ever read.
This adaptation seems to imply that the colour has some kind of intelligence, and it seems to object to the crucifix hung on one of the walls of the farmhouse.
Indeed a sign of intelligence  Grin

And I understand exactly how you felt, buddy. I allways like to take a little walk while listening to the podcast, and decided it would be fun to listen to both episodes this time. So, I went out of town, past the fields, and it being winter, it was already dark. Normally this is not a problem affcorse, I haven't feared darkness since I was twelve, but it was different this time. Somehow, during the second episode, the bright starlight, chill wind and the story on the podcast made me really uncomfortable, and on my way home I crossed a dark graveyard I sometimes haunt during these walks for the added atmosphere, but this time I could not bring up the courage to do so. What an amazing story this is, and what an amazing episode for the podcraft.
Now let's make sure they get their money before noon, because my friends and I REALLY want to try the 3d gimmick.
12  Mythos Matters / Cthulhu Entertainment & Gaming / Re: Arkham Horror on: November 20, 2010, 04:37:53 AM
I agree, the co-op angle and gameplay alone would make it excellent, but to be set in Lovecraft country was a stroke of genious.
13  Mythos Matters / Cthulhu Entertainment & Gaming / Re: Arkham Horror on: November 19, 2010, 07:53:16 AM
No, it just contains a huge load of stuff that makes it expensive. It costs the same as many other boardgames that have similair contents.
14  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Pluto, the Kuiper belt, Yuggoth, and you on: November 17, 2010, 06:45:18 PM
I Like Arthur C. Clarke's Nemesis, a red dwarf that passes through the solar system. It's planet is the interesting bit, mind you.
15  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New donation/gift ideas on: November 17, 2010, 06:43:52 PM
I want to donate anyway, but I live on welfare since a horrible and possibly eldritch accident and can bareley survive as it is. Please forgive me, one day everything will be awesome like before, and I will send money just because you two do such amazing work.
Lovecraft isn't even that known in my country, and you two make me feel like I discussed this great American author, who is right there along with Poe and Hemmingway to me. (Also two authors the Dutch bareley know. We are culturally a backwards country.)
