Very nice, BSH. I have to disagree with the Slender Man's suit taking some of the horror out of him. I think that scary thing about him (it?) is that it is almost human, but disturbingly different. It seems like a kind of horror version of the Uncanny Valley phenomenon encountered in humanoid robotic design.

Bob

haha most people dissagree with me and love slendy's suit ... i suppose i like naked things....

Holy cats!  Is your last name 'Pickman?'

i wish

I'm back! and with more slenderman stuff to behold! Grin

In this drawing i decided to make him more of a monster than man because i sometimes feel that his usual suit and tie atire takes away from the horror of it all :3

bear-shaped-ham: Ever read Edward Gorey? Because I'm getting a strong (and delightful) Gorey vibe from that.

@Bear-Shaped-Ham
Easily my favourite thread on the site so far!!
(I'm so impressed I came out of self-imposed-posting retirement to let you know  Smiley )

A great idea...I hope people keep posting their art!  Looking forward to checking out the Slenderman stuff later too!

I totally agree, im really impressed with what everyones come up with! WELL DONE ALL

i havent done much lovecraft art recently because ive been applying for uni ( I got a place in grays school of art in Aberdeen YAY)

i have however been painting a lot of creepy cartoons with text ... i'll post a them because a few of my friends assumed they were lovecraft quotes ... and theyre kinda wierd Tongue

Eric im your new biggest fan you're stuff would be epic illustrations in lovecraft books ... i can totally see that.

I just did another slenderman picture and as before i knooow slendy isnt lovecraft but as one can see i use an abreviated lovecraft quote as it seemed fitting

"I have brought to light a monstrous abnormality, but I did it for the sake of knowledge. Now for the sake of all life and Nature you must help me thrust it back into the dark again" shortened down to " I have brought to light a monstrous abnormality, Now you must help me thrust it back into darkness"

Once more if you are unaware of the slenderman myth please either google it or watch the youtube series marble hornets ... its truely terrifying

@brown Jenkin

i looove this audio!!

i think audio without visual can be a very creepy thing because it really does let the mind wander and make its own assumptions, I am not easily scared and yet the one thing which i remember and really drops something cold and fearfull into my belly is the audio loop from the movie "the strangers". The movie itself isnt that scary but the audio makes me curdle

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISjy1MP0MX0&feature=related <=

Is the creepy chanting based on anything because it does sound convincing indeed.
