I enjoyed the Dresden Files series, though lost track a bit after the 5th or 6th. They also made a TV show which was pretty good too, but I thnk it only ran for one season

Yeah, I liked the TV show. I recently watched them all on Hulu. It's a shame it only ran for one season.

I've got the whole series backed up with my Christmas present. Cheesy

I'm reading "Storm Front" by Jim Butcher (the first in the "Dresden Files" series).

Whattcha get for the holidays?

I got edibles, a 32GB flash drive for backing some stuff up, some clothes and a gift card to Barnes & Noble. Cheesy

you guys... So tired. It was a horror I could not have anticipated. A sane person would just leave the situation, but my ape brain has convinced me that I LOVE this child and I can not escape.

We definitely are going to tackle some of HPL's essays. They're just good stuff to talk about and might even give us a few episodes worth. We'll see.

Now for more coffee...

Perhaps a podcast about your slow decline from normal person into sleep-deprived madman would be a place to go. Wink

Couldn't one over-inflate one's "Total time logged in" by just always having this site open?

If you enlarge that horrible Model T in the background, it has a flat piece of wood on the back which says "If you don't like my driving, call 1-800-EAT-SHIT." And a bumper sticker which says 9/11 was an inside job. That's very odd.

What I find to be even stranger is the Garfield stuck to the window.

I popped the first sentence of Dunwich into whoohoo.co.uk's "Scottie Translator" here and got this:

"When a traveller in north central massachusetts takes th' wrang fork at th' junction ay th' aylesbury pike jist beyond dean’s corners he comes upon a lonely an' curioos coontry."

What part of New England is he from? There are a few different accents around here.

Here's the opening credits for episode 1 of Dunwich:

Enjoy!
(I hope)

I need to hear more of Armitage to pass a decent judgement. [begin nitpick] I thought I heard at least one more "r" in there than there might have been. [/end nitpick]

Movies based on board games.... I smell a an original Siffy (syfy) movie.

In a nondescript town...

Four young people...

The rumors were absurd...

They thought it was safe to swim...

They thought wrong!

Hungry Hungry Hippos Saturday @ 9/8 Central. Only on Siffy!

"My own rule is that no weird story can truly produce terror unless it is devised with all the care and verisimilitude of an actual hoax."

I'll be the anti-hipster and post this one even though it's common:

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."

I feel the same way about [i
In the Mouth..[/i], basically King tipping his hat to Lovecraft.

It was John Carpenter though.
