1  Mythos Matters / Cthulhu Entertainment & Gaming / Audio Drama with a few Lovecraftian nods on: April 10, 2012, 08:59:42 AM
I'd like to plug "Jake Sampson, Monster Hunter" from Broken Sea Productions.  Its a throwback to Old Time Radio programs, with a wry sense of humor.

There are also a few shout outs to Lovecraft in the stories. One series arc has the team meeting Robert E. "Bob" Howard. Another series has a character speaking the phrase "Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fthagn!" The current series, "The Roof of the World" has Jake and his team travelling to Shamballah in search of a flower to make a drug in order to cure Jake's old college professor (and family friend) Professor Dyer (sadly, Professor Peaselee had already succumbed to the illness). Jake is apparently an alumnus of Miskatonic U.

Check it out.

I don't know if anyone's posted this yet, but I found a site that has a link to a recording of Robert Price reading the Dunwich Horror.

The link to the post is below, though you will have to scroll down a bit to get to it.

3  General Category / General Discussion / Here's a Thought on: August 03, 2010, 04:10:45 PM
What if (in the tradition of TV series to DVD) there was a CD produced of the first "season" of THPLLP complete with a book containing the stories covered on the CD, complete with annotations from the series as well as notes from the forum (provided folks would be willing to contribute their notes).  It could be known as the H P Lovecraft Literary Podcast Annotated Edition, and possibly used as a fund raiser for the podcast(?).  Just a thought.

Did anyone else catch that the Alert was towed in by the Vigilant?

Or am I really late to the party?

There was a really interesting nod toward Cool Air in the Paul Malmont novel "The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril."  It's worth checking out.
