A new novel based on the Arkham Horror board game, apparently. Part one of a trilogy, too. I'm tempted to check it out, but I'm assuming a great deal of disappointment.

Probably a safe bet, Yojimbo.

Yeah - if you must have a board game adaptation just watch "Clue."
At least IT has Tim Curry.
oh, wait... "IT" has Tim Curry, too!

I'd consider picking this one up. It seems very pulpy - it is, after all, based on a board game.

So is the movie "Battleship", but that doesn't mean I am going to waste money seeing it.

Really? Nobody else wants to take the bullet on this one?
[sigh] I guess I'll do it. I am the one who brought it up, after all.

I bought this one a couple of days ago. Haven't cracked it yet, but maybe tomorrow is a good day to do such things...

Movies based on board games.... I smell a an original Siffy (syfy) movie.
In a nondescript town...
Four young people...
The rumors were absurd...
They thought it was safe to swim...

They thought
wrong

Well you have to get a cast that is 20% washed-up 1980's entertainers (not necessarily actors, mind you), 15% known character actors from Full Moon Productions, and 65% young, hot actors/actresses who got no higher than D+ in high school drama class. THEN you have a syfy movie.
Bob
PS - Oh, and CGI rendered on a Commodore 64.
