They've already mentioned the sprayer - and how on earth would you disperse the powder of ibn Ghazi with a hockey stick?
oh, crap, that's another sound effect i still need to find or make.

You guys have lost me, I've completely forgotten the bug sprayer in The Dunwich. "Hockey stick" means fake global warming to me. All hail the sun, all hail kinetic action in the next 48 hours.

The bug sprayer full of the powder of ibn Ghazi, which will make the invisible creature appear for a moment or two - thus leading to the complete freakout of poor rustic Curtis, who has the misfortune to be the one with the telescope when the monster becomes visible.

Disregard the hokey stick - the hockey stick is a lie.

The hockey stick is a reference to the Sci-Fi Channel replacing Harry Dresden's staff with a hockey stick when they adapted the books for TV. The idea being, I assume, that the public would be more comfortable with a magician if he used mundane items as the typical wizardly trappings, thus letting him blend in more with "normal" people. It was little changes to many, MANY details like that that to my mind ended up completely killing the mood. So to have replaced the bug sprayer full of the powder of ibn Ghazi in lieu of a hockey stick would be tantamount to what happened in the DF series.

I figured as much.

And that worked so well because a guy wandering around carrying a hockey stick isn't weird at all.
Oh, wait - it IS set in Toronto, isn't it?  Never mind.

You mean instead of Chicago? Yeah, that was worth changing for no damn reason. ANYWAY, I could go on in this vein all day and still be pissed off. Suffice to say that I am eagerly awaiting episode 4!
