Now we just wait for the dreamers, artists, and poets to start going mad/hanging blasphemous scenes in the salon, &c. &c.

Did that nauseate anyone else? For whatever reason, all I could think of was a crawling booger. Undecided

Bob (having blasphemous dreams of cyclopean boogers...)

Pretty much what an octopus is. It's a slug with feet.

Wow! The only way that could've got better / more creepy would be if the octopus suddenly sprang up onto someones face and drilled a controlling tentacle into their brain....

A smart slug with feet that can open doors and access your bank account and eat your children!

I did find it funny that the octopus seems to be spitting up the indigestible remains of its last few meals; after hearing of all the garbage that gets dumped in the ocean, I guess it was returning the favor.

On the topic of cephalpods,  I was at the Natural History museum in London last weekend. They do these brilliant tours taking you down into the spirit collections (in groups of 8-or-so), where they have a complete Architeuthis dux (the giant squid, despite all these later pretenders to the kraken crown  Smiley ) laid out stretching across the entire room (if any of you have read China Mieville's 'Kraken' - and I recommend it, if you haven't - you'll know what I'm talking about). Pretty awesome, and well worth a look if you find yourself in London; they have specimens from the Beagle, over 750 000 holotypes, Vampyrteuthis infernalis (best Latin name ever - the vampire-squid-from-hell) - even better, the whole thing is free Smiley
