It's also said ee-frum. Hooray for linguistic variation.

I really liked this story, as it has one of my favorite HPL lines:
"I will not be driven out of my body ... I will not change souls with that bullet-ridden lich in the madhouse!"

Be sure to check out my cool weird little books @ http://www.lulu.com - search under Jensen for "Lot's Wife" and "What the Dirt Wants" - hurry, something bigger and far worse will be waking soon!

Bullet-ridden lich... Tell me that doesn't sound like a great name for a metal band.

Sounds more like a pub name to me...buuuut maybe that's just me. Or, maybe that's why there's no longer a ladies night at Miskatonic Books...

Well Asenath was described as "dark, smallish and very good looking except for over-protuberant eyes". Sounds like my type, save for all the Daddy issues

Oh I don't know, maybe Edward was into that sort of thing. I just wonder how Asenath/Daddy explained things on the wedding night. There could be an entire Lovecraft story about that one conversation.

Whatever conversation they had, that wasn't it. Edward doesn't figure out what's going on for a couple of years, remember?

True, but he came back from his honeymoon all freaked out, and that might be explained by honeymooning in Innsmouth, but somehow I still think his wedding night was pretty messed up. Something tells me that Ephrym was not the type to take being the "catcher" at all. So that makes me think the wedding night was just plane unspeakable (and possibly squamis).
