It's alive!!! Or undead!! Or risen from the ancient Hyperborean ruins....

Some weird fic loving friends and I (Tim Mucci who did the readings for "The Trap" and Phil Gelatt, who's a longtime listener but I don't think is on the forum) have been plotting for a while about doing a Clark Ashton Smith podcast. First ep is up at http://www.thedoubleshadow.com/ ! Second ep is being edited. Smiley

We're going through his fic first by setting--Averoigne, then Zothique and Hyperborea, each in chronological order within the setting. Then I think we'll do the non-location-affiliated writings. Not the poetry. We're still working on submitting to iTunes, but that should happen soon, I hope. Figured the people here might be interested, and this is the secret project I've occasionally been bouncing about here and on Twitter.

Bah! I was hoping you'd go live before I left for work this morning, so's I could listen in my truck. Now I'll have to wait until I get home. Confusticate and bebother it all!

Anyway, I look forward to listening most eldritchly!

Oh no! Don't let him off that easy, Ruth! Make him suffer a bit more for that horrible, HORRIBLE image.

That `s nice. Willing to delve deeper into the world of weird fiction, I `m happy to have a new guide at hand. I will check that thing out for sure. Is there a good compilation of Ash `s work you can recommend?

Well, there's the website we linked to for free stories, but that's just online. As for compilations, the Night Shade editions are lovely. Some are out of print, but I got all of them for Kindle on Amazon. I think they have them for other e-readers too.

I've been reading "The Ultimate Weird Tales," which seems to be a complete or nearly-complete collection of CAS on Kindle for... free or really cheap, I can't remember. It's full of typos (like "thern" for "them"), and I think the text may have actually come off The Eldritch Dark. But it beats the website because it doesn't shoot radiation into your eyes.
