Huzzah! Both ladies did an outstanding job, and I'd love to hear more of them on the show. I've lately been working on memorizing "The Cats of Ulthar" for purposes of getting to sleep at night, and I've been dying for a good HPPodcraft-style reading to help with the task. It was well worth the wait! And Mrs. Lackey was fantastic as usual; I have to admit I've never been particularly crazy about "Cool Air" as a story, but she sold it extremely well, and might change my opinion.

I cannot but agree on all counts.  Especially Mrs. Lackey's reading of "Cool Air."  It's the best production and reading of the story in my collection.

Nice to see that the ladies are proving once again that the husbands are not the only ones with the talent. Good show!

I've enjoyed Cool Air since I first read it and this reading is great.

The Cats of Ulthar is such a great revenge story and the reading is also wonderful.

Both a great for me to keep myself distracted till the Innsmouth eps since I have been looking forward to those for a while.

I enjoy both the reading. Full stop.

If there is anything to the recordings, at least with The Cats of Ulthar there seemed to be a lot of music over dead air. I know it is a damn short piece, and I like a little pause here and there with some music to set the mood, but there a lot of it in this particular recording. Unsure why. That is really my only critique.

Both readings are great!

One thing that really impressed me about Rachel Lackey's reading of "Cool Air" was how she read Ms. Herrero's lines. On the page they come across as silly and one-dimensional (and a bit racist), but Rachel read them very well in a very believable Spanish accent!

Kudos to you both for giving us some more sweet-ass Lovecraft (as Chris would say).

Sorry for the thread necromancy...but I appear to be having some trouble downloading these readings.  I'm getting a dialog box popping up asking me for a username and password.  Anyone know if there is someplace else I can find these?

Thanks!

Are you downloading from the iTunes feed or the links on the homepage? They had to move the readings to another host because of the high demand. That will probably screw up the iTunes feed, but I haven't tried it and don't have iTunes on my work computer. I just download "The Cats of Ulthar" from the homepage without a problem though.

I was trying to download them from the website links.  I tried again this morning however, and they worked fine.  Thanks!
