I know Chad and Chris have been telling us that they will announced what's next for them after this podcast wraps up. Wow, typing the last bit of that sentence really makes me sad. When this podcast wraps up. I feel like I've gotten to know Chad and Chris a bit over the last few years, so I'm glad they're not going away.

What, in addition to what they plan on doing, would you like to see Chad and Chris do next? I would vote for a Lovecraft audiobook. They've already got a good core group of stories and could add others. I would be happy to donate to a kickstarter to raise money for a project like this. Think about it: Andrew Lehman, Matt Foyer and the other talented readers reading the great stories that Chad and Chris haven't recorded yet. I think it would be great.

What do you think?

I think combining the current stories with a bunch of others read by Leman, Foyer, etc would be an excellent project. And the current ones could act as teasers.

Karl Edward Wagner's KANE stories and novels.

if you have not read these, and you love HPL, you have no idea what you are missing.  go get any one of KEW's works, you will thank me.  they are out of print commercially but you can find them on amazon in used, and some on ebay.   I have them all.  they are my most treasured collection of works.

what's better than the first living man, made immortal by a vengeful god for murdering his brother Abel, and then doomed to wander the earth for untold ages, taking advantage of royal court intrigues and winning wars as a general and winning empires as a king, then being usually chased out of wherever he has been for a time as a bandit by the local authorities.

KEW's work captures the same insane darkness as HPL in mood but is written in a much more readable style, the kind where you stay up all night finishing the book til 4 am.  you just can't put his stuff down.

as a bonus, his novel Darkness Weaves works in the Elder Things from the MOM story, but in a very different way and way back in pre-history.  super super cool the way he adapts them, without ever naming them as Elder Things.  in this book they are called the Scylredi.  and they are super vicious and evil as you can certainly imagine.

I have to have some here who know Karl Edward Wagner's work and agree?

as the boys would say, "it's SO GOOD"

I've thought for a long time that they should producer more of the full-audio readings like before. There are some great stories they have yet to tackle, and as far as I know, all of the ones they have done have been both successful and well-received. It would be a great way to keep the site alive and provide some new material for those of us who need and HPL fix, as well as new content for some of the folks who will be introduced to the podcast too late for them to hear episodes as they premier. I know everyone has their favorites, but I would love to hear "Dreams in the Witch House".

For me, it would be "The Duwich Horror" and "The Shadow Over Innsmouth," though I'd love to have "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" as an audiobook, too.

That will be awesome! I've got the three Dark Adventure Radio Theatre episodes they've done so far and love all three. Smiley

In all seriousness, I'd like to see them take on the stories mentioned in HPL's "Supernatural Horror in Literature."  I'd wager a lot of casual listeners don't even realize how "Lovecraftian" a lot of those works are.

Someone started a webpage linking all copies of works mentioned in Supernatural available on the internet. It's a great idea to do those in order.

What Sich and Chard should really do is Selected Letters, volumes I-VI.

jk. I think what they should really do is redo the entire canon starting from the tale in the first episode, "in light of" current research, new facts and discoveries, strange theories etc etc. It can go on forever.

I'd love it if Chad and Chris next went over Lin Carter's Mythos fiction works, which are conveniently compiled on a book named The Xothic Legend Cycle, edited by mr. Robert M. Price.
There's some great stories in there, and also some great characters (Anton Zarnak, Supernatural Sleuth).
Just change the podcast's name to H.P. Lovecraft et al Literary Podcast and there's so much to keep you guys busy for a long time.
Anyway, keep up the good work and I can't wait for the next episode.
