Pretty sure I will be signing up for this.  Might be worth it to learn of some more writers.  'The Yellow Wallpaper' is a great story!

It was a good episode. I'm in for the 6.66 subscription. Will there be an option to buy it for a whole year?

A bit off topic. For everyone who hasn't read the stories (The king in yellow, the yellow wallpaper) yet. You can download them here for free Smiley

I signed up to pop over here and let you know that I love the podcast and am definitely going to subscribe for the next phase.

Partially because this podcast I went to the John Hay Library at Brown University during my recent visit to Providence. While there I looked at some of the special collection manuscripts, and one of the letters referenced the essay you're going to be looking at. I made a note of it and added it to my "to do" list. Now I can work on eating this bowl of frosting one spoonful at a time rather than the gluttonous event I had planned.

There's also a great recording of The King in Yellow stories on Librivox! http://librivox.org/king-in-yellow-by-robert-w-chambers/

All you really want is Part 1 (i.e. this download vs. the part 2 download available elsewhere on their site) unless you're interested in tales of France that are not the least bit weird.

Also, I haven't listened to the new podcast episode yet because I was in Providence (total excuse, right?) but I've heard a bit about what they're going on and so excited!

Just to clarify CthulhuChick's point, Librivox =  free audio books for free download, free.

They also have "The Yellow Wallpaper."

The radio horror drama series Suspense adapted Yellow Wallpaper as well:

$6.66 - consider it done, a total steal to hear you guys dip into the Wide Wide World of Weird.

Now if you don't mind me I'm to finish this manuscript I was reading, the first half's been okay but my friend said the finale is mental.

Add me to the list of people who'll be subscribing. I'm looking forward to being introduced to new stories, though I've actually read all of the first months already, so am looking forward to what you have to say about them  Smiley

Not yet. This is an experiment and we're only committing for 6 months. We're going harder on the show than ever with only one or two weeks off in the first 6 months. It will be grueling. But if we get the subscriptions that we're hoping for, we'll commit to being full time podcasters. Like, quit our day jobs. And with that we'll offer a year long subscription plus other cool things.

One thing, we didn't really talk about is that all these new show ideas will be included in the subscription fee. So if this works, you guys get more and more stuff for the same amount of money. It's just this initial thrust where we find out how much actual support we'll get.

Reading about other shows that moved to a pay model, I've seen a 35% subscription on the high end and as low as 1% on the other end. If we can keep 8% of our audience, we can do this.

Well be sure to let us know how to go about doing this. I generally DL straight from the sight, not going through iTunes or anything like that, so please be sure to assuage my ignorance when that time is right. Wink
