They kinda did that with Sanaa Lathan in AVP and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in The Thing 0.5

Not necessarily.  If we go for the Oscar crowd, we could definitely do a "Brokeback Mountains of Madness" sort of thing.  Maybe get Kevin Spacey and Matthew Mcconaughey for Dyer and Danforth, respectively.
