Is there any connection (presumably by letter) with Edward Hamilton and Lovecraft? I kind of detect a lovecraft vibe in the story "The Man who evolved" published in Wonder Stories in 1931.

Bunch together a group of people deliberately chosen for strong religious feelings, and you have a practical guarantee of dark morbidities expressed in crime, perversion, and insanity. ~H. P. Lovecraft

Yay, crime, perversion, and insanity! Sounds like a party! ~me

The author in question was Edmond Hamilton, rather than Edward.  He was one of the stable of authors that Wright assembled to write for "Weird Tales" and he was writing at the same time as HPL.  Lovecraft and Hamilton were CERTAINLY aware of each other's work - it's not possible for it to have been otherwise.  However, I don't think Hamilton was in HPL's direct circle of friends.  He was certainly pals with Price, Kline, and Williamson.
