My inner 8-year-old takes a special joy in the fact that Silly Putty appears to be the medium of choice for taking casts of these fossils.

Oh yeah, awesome! I vissited the national museum in Australia just so I can have a look at the fossils. They are very grainy and difficult to see, maybe that's why the room was so empty compared to the rest of the museum, but to me it was the highlight of the entire trip.
To see imprints of creatures past anything the world of man recalls... It was very Lovecraftian.
