Has anyone mentioned the film adaptation yet?

I just had a "great" idea for a film: "Snakes on a Plane II - Yig From Above"
But seriously, I'm amazed and delighted that someone's making a film out of this story!

:-\Boring story.

I'm curious... is there any particular reason you find this story boring?
I will grant that it has very little in the way of any "action" (which is not too common in Lovecraft's work anyway) or the great extent of background and mythological exposition we get from the likes of The Dunwich Horror or The Call of Cthulhu.
But boring? What exactly did you find boring about it?

Seriously creepy, creepy, creepy. I really don't like the setting being in the old west. No sir, I just don't like it.

Done. They're supposed to release it this year.

Greetings all,

It has been a lot of work but we are now officially in the editing process of The Curse of Yig.  http://yigthemovie.com/ This is our joint endeavor with 10,000 Comic Books  http://www.10000comicbooks.com/ to bring the H. P. Lovecraft story to life!  This story in particular, co-written with Zealia Bishop, has never been adapted to film so we are quite pleased to be producing this film.   The inception came from the 2009 two person show production of the play by the same name which was created by Tim Uren and Amy Schweickhardt for the 2009 Minnesota Fringe Festival http://www.fringefestival.org/2009/show/?id=973 As I sat beside composer Scott Keever watching the show we decided that, for too many reasons  to list, we needed to adapt the story into a film.  Tim and I immediately went to work as he drafted the script and I helped a little with the adaptation to screenplay.

Check out the website as well as Richard Molby’s stills from the production  http://www.richardmolby.com/photography/On_Set_Photography/Pages/Film_Set__The_Curse_of_Yig.html.  We worked through some hard weather for a period specific piece and we’re proud as hell of the results.  The Curse of Yig should be polished and completed for the 2011 film festival circuit and whatever other horror avenues will have us.  Thanks everyone for your support.
