Although I did wonder how you managed "the whisperer" for so long without coughing Smiley

Actually, I seem to recall that I did it the trickiest way possible - I actually had this terrible cold, and I recorded it in the middle of the night...  Plus, I can just edit out any coughing...

Having never read this story, I cant begin to explain the excitement I felt. Except to say I listened to it all in one day and cursed every distraction that took me away from it. Great Job !!

Thanx a bunch!  Always nice to hear.
[Particularly since there might be those who worry if a chick can do Lovecraft justice.]
8(
It was interesting mixing the music - like "Akeley's theme", and how I sort of warped it for that final conversation...

I love doing the readings and acting, I just don't have as much time now, with the show and all.  Sad, since I got a couple of chaps into Mountains of madness, but haven't had time to finish...

Any news on Haunter of the Dark ?

Definitely coming Sunday - though I might leak it early to special interest groups.
Wink
It's sounding really good - the guys did a great job.

Oh, and the NEXT episode, "Dis Belief" is my adaptation from Jorge Luis Borges.  [story - "Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius"]
Cool

I love the way a couple of our characters have something subtly wrong with their voices... I can't think of names at the moment (I was shot in the head Friday, and the ensuing memory lapses have been the most damnable nuisance - I'm considering seeing a doctor about them), but one in particular always sounds like his voice is being broadcast through a telephone or speaker of some sort, and since it's never addressed, it leads to all kinds of weird mental images.  I picture a kind of steampunk Stephen Hawking situation, almost. I don't know if it's just an unintended artifact of the recording process or what, but I really, really like it.

Good episode.  Coulda done without the lengthy debate on the meaning of "symmetrical" though.  I think everyone knows what symmetry is.

Thanx!  The voices are more due to the files I get from the actors than anything else (apart from Blake).  There's only so much you can fix and clean up.  Glad it didn't detract, anyway...

Oh, and the next two have been written and recorded - one is a secret, the other is titled "The Facts Concerning..." [Arthur Jermyn].  Let's see if I can jazz that one up enough!

I suspected as much, but it's a great touch.  You get the impression that these are some very odd and interesting characters with some weird backgrounds (I remember now, it's Warren that sounds especially distorted, which makes me think of Harley Warren, and is one of them based on Herbert West?).  When I first listened to "The Picture in the House," I almost got a mental image of Warren as, like, a head in a jar or something, and I like it so much I'm declaring it canon, whatever you say about it.  Cheesy

My "Lovecraft 5" [more archetypes than specific characters] are Herbert, the scientist, Warren the academic, Richard the painter, Edward the novelist, and Charles the dilettante.

Interpret them as you will...
Wink
Oh, and the next party is at Richard's house.  Don't go in the basement...

I think my problem is that when writing Herbert, I picture him sort of as Sheldon from Big Bang Theory, so arguments do tend to be bizarrelly petty and annoying....

Not Lovecraft, but another early 20th century mind warp author, Jorge Luis Borges!
My latest episode, "Dis Belief" is an adaptation of "Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius".

And it includes a lovely cameo from Chris Lackey and Chad Fifer!

HA! I just listened to the "Haunter of the Dark" episode again.  I normally don't play all the way through the credits and legal stuff at the end, but I left it playing this time, and your little Derleth meltdown at the end is hilarious.

Thanx much!  Glad you liked it - i thought of bleeping it or something, but decided to just let it be...
Wink
New episode just went up "A Stitch In Time" - not specifically Lovecraftian, but it does involve taxidermy and the rebirth of an ancient evil god, so why not give it a listen?

Our latest episode is not mythos, per se, but does involve a myth cycle and its relation to reality, so might be of some interest.

Cautionary Tale

And of course, a better look at Grandmother Teeth:
