Hey everyone!

My name's Clay--I'm an illustrator living in Boston, and I've been a huge fan of the HPL Literary Podcast for a long time--I've tried to sign up to the boards a couple times in the past but it never worked for some reason, so I'm glad to finally be in the door!

I've been a Lovecraft fan for a long time, ever since Evil Dead introduced me to The Necronomicon, and if I had to choose a favorite story it'd probably actually be The Festival.  I'm constantly on the search for good film adaptations, and I think the most successful have been non-literal adaptations.  For instance, I think the best Lovecraft movie ever made is John Carpenter's The Thing.  I'm also a big fan of the movie City of the Dead starring Christopher Lee--actually very similar to The Festival.

I write and draw an online graphic novel called Dead Meat, which isn't Lovecraft-themed, but you should check it out anyway at www.eatdeadmeat.com!

Glad to be a part of the boards!

best

Clay

I've noticed a few "clusters" of people... one in particular near my in DC (well, Arlington, actually).  Are some of you folks meeting up?  Are such gatherings advertised here or some other place?

I think there's quite a number of us around the Capital.  I work in DC and divide my living time between Silver Spring, MD and York, PA.  We should get ourselves a meetup together this year.  We should certainly celebrate is birthday this August!!!

My 2nd infernal spawn is due to manifest on this plane rather close to that date!  (Aug 23rd).  I may be otherwise engaged!

Greetings,

I write some stuff and live in Pennsylvania. Lovecraft has been a huge influence on me, starting with my purchase of Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror and the Macabre (with its groovy but totally unrelated cover artwork) when I was about 13. Before that, I read a good deal of Robert E. Howard. (By the way, REH would also make for a great podcast.) I listen to every new episode of HP podcast. HPL has served as a great gateway drug for introducing me to other authors like Machen, Blackwood, and Chambers.

Hi, I live in Cheshire in the UK and really developed my appreciation of Lovecraft via the podcast. I write sporadically and am hoping to post a Lovecraftian story soon.

Arlington, darn it...for a second I thought you meant Texas...then it dawned on me you were talking the DC area.

Sorry, I'm sure there are other Lovecraft aficionados in Texas though...or at least a few Robert E. Howard fans!

Hey people Smiley This is Guido Deniz Fromm. I'm currently in New Jersey but I have not always been here. I moved to the states just a year and a half ago from Turkey. I have been reading Lovecraft for a couple of years now. He was introduced to me by one of my previous girlfriends and he's been in my life ever since. I also like other weird tale authors like M.R James, Poe, Clark Ashton Smith. I'm also quite in to tabletop gaming and I ran both Trail and Call of Cthulu games, Trail of Cthulu being my favorite. I gained an incredible amount of insight from Fifer and Lackey and they are probably one of the most influential people that I have listened to. I'm hoping to have a great time in these forums.

Hello, all! I'm Jon. Like it says on the name thingy to the right of this post. I recently became a fan of Lovecraft's work and am slowly but surely making my way through his work (Currently on Charles Dexter Ward...) Big fan of the podcast, although I would assume that's a bit of a common denominator here. Also not the best at introductions, it seems...

Nice to meet all of you fine folks!
