My name is old book. In real life I am a famous Hollywood actor, commercial pilot and physician. Not really. But if I post this, all the forum topics will say the most recent post is by old book, so that's why I'm here. To know me is to love me.

Hello I'm Adam. I teach high school English in a rural Kentucky town. I've been a fan of Lovecraft's for 18 years and a fan of the podcast for 3 years.  Aside for preparing my students for the work or a post-secondary education, I enjoy introducing my students to Lovecraft (and the podcast). Thanks to my, our school library no carries a few anthologies of Lovecraft's work.

Who knows, I may have a former student or two lurking around these forums.

Hey there! My name is Christopher. At present I live with my wife and two rabbits near Frankfurt in Germany and spend my days translating computer games for a living and writing my MA thesis in English literature. Not on Lovecraft however.
I first ran into his writings at about age 17 when I discovered a worm-ridden tome (OK, paperback, but it was pretty old!) at the local library and have been more or less a fan since that day. I stumbled on the Podcast more or less by accident two months ago when I surfed for recordings of Lovecraft stories, and up to now I have devoured each and every episode up to the present ones.

That should suffice for now. Nice being here, hello to all of you!  Grin

Hello everybody, I had been listening to the podcast for at least a year now and I finally decided to join the forums.

I am a Pole, who lives in UK and is moving to US this year - interested in lovecraft, steampunk and general geekery.

Hi All,

I came to your podcast through a recommendation on the OSRgaming.org forum for old-school role playing gamers.  Another person listed it as a favorite podcast in a thread.  I had heard of Lovecraft...mostly because of the Cthulu references in the original AD&D Deities and Demigods book, but that is about all I knew.  I am a history teacher, and am also certified to teach language arts...so I love a good literary podcast!  So I went out and found a free e-book of Lovecraft's complete works at http://cthulhuchick.com/ and proceeded to read on my Nook.  I was hooked from the first story.  I have always liked Poe, and Lovecraft puts a more modern spin on Poe's style.  As I finish a story, I then listen to your podcast on that story...and I love it.  You guys hit the ground running from episode one...you have a great style and work well together.  You also have great readers and guest hosts.  So far I just finished episode 18...so I have a long way to go.  I see you are at the end of Lovecraft's works, and I am excited to see that you are continuing the podcast in some other direction...way to go...keep up the great work!

I have listened to all the podcasts and think they are great.
I got into lovecraft literature through the RPG or was it vice versa?
I live in Australia and so am on the lookout for flying polyps.

BTW I recommend the Muse of the Monstrous
I have only read two stories so far and both are great.

We have a thread for that.

I'm a Lovecraft reading, sometime Call of Cthulhu playing, rationalist and sceptical dabbler in the occult. I'm hoping to contribute to the burgeoning field of evidence based chanting.

Hi everybody! Quick intro:

I'm Gary, an HPL/pulp/spec fiction fan in Dallas, TX. I'm a former A&E reporter; these days I work full-time at Heritage Auctions (www.ha.com) specializing in vintage comics, books, and pulp magazines, and write freelance movie reviews on the side (www.movieink.net). It keeps me off the streets...

Hello!  I've been reading HP off and on for years now.  I've been reading more lately.  Listening to the podcast helps when I get stuck in a story (esp Dream of Unknown Kadath).
