Barzai would be a good one. It sounds like a cat name, plus it's character-appropriate. After all, cats like to climb and investigate things, and occasionally regret doing so. As for Barzai, he lives in Ulthar, and "it was he who wisely advised the burgesses of Ulthar when they passed their remarkable law against the slaying of cats," so it's even got a good "Cats of Ulthar" connection.

yeah, but Barzai was a guy. Other than that, I like it. I wonder if the Moon Cats got there by "falling into the sky"?

Well yeah, but if anyone else is looking for a good Lovecraftian cat name, they might consider Barzai.
I also like Von Unaussprechlichen Katzen.

One of our (now sadly departed) cats was called Cathulhu. Still on the bumpers for our show. If we ever decide to get another, it will be called Mog-Sothoth.

Quoted for epic win. Requoted. Barzai is good. What's the name of the US puppet dictator in Afghanistan now? Sounds like Barzai. Karzai. I searched it. Not using google, which sucks. What about Katzai? It sorta sounds like cat's-eye, which is an old radio signal strength meter, and it sorta sounds like Karzai/Barzai, and it sorta sounds like Katz, which is a good Jewish surname.
