Eibon: No, I thought maybe Genus felt like I was somehow denying something he said, which I wasn't. I think you're right on about the professional mystificators, I don't take those sort of tales at face value, but just noted real life of a sort imitating Lovecraft's art, especially the bit about stealing the Necronomicon.
Genus: That's Eva Braun at Adolf's redoubt in Bavaria. The style is very Roerich, although it is a photo and not a painting. She was a photographer, that's how they met, she worked for a photographer's shop that was selling big portraits of Hitler early on. She was always photographing stuff around the place, and every once in a while Adolf would turn the lens on her. It's all so cheerful and innocuous, like an ad for Maxwell House set in a Max Parish location, unless you know who it is and what's going on.

The topic of Hyperborea came up in Ep.4 and I believe Chad was suggesting that Howard's Conan stories were set in the Hyberborean Age. It was actually called the Hyborian Age. Hyperborea, iirc, was a country in the Conan stories, though. Another one out of the park. Great stuff so far. And I.N.J. is a great guest I've been kicking myself for that one - especially since I'm now reading some Conan - I'll be bringing it up on the show:) Chad

No, he won't. The honey badger don't care. About ANYTHING. Bob

The Honey Badger had, indeed, come himself from the stars, and had brought his snakes with him.

I really enjoyed this last episode, but I think it should have included the final episode as well. I have the feeling this one just got stretched out to make the episode count match the length of this way-too-long story.

i feel the same way, every time i read this story i just skip to the end. but, whatever. its better than having the podcast end too fast. >_> regarding the expressions of the elder things and cats, i sort of imagine they are drawn in the murals manga style like with sweat drops and wobbly eye stalks which properly conveys their feelings on their star shaped "face", like a pokemon. also on re-reading this story, i dont really feel like lake was a dick to dyer at all.

Really enjoyed "Arkham Sir" by Humanoids - much better than "McMurdo Boogie" a few weeks ago! Inspired me to listen to all of their songs on Bandcamp. I love the "Brown Jenkin" rapping in "The Companion"!
