My apologies if the subject has been brought up, but I searched and didn't see it.

Has anyone heard of this new online game by Funcom called "The Secret World"?
http://www.thesecretworld.com

I was looking through the website today, and in it there are locations listed such as
"The Polaris"
"Kingsmouth Lighthouse"
"Innsmouth Academy"
"The Accursed Woods"

With some areas being in a "small island off the coast of Maine".

WoW has lost it's shine with me, and I am L.A. Noire'ed to death. Smiley Would be nice to get a good online horror game.

Just followed your link to this site and it looks pretty cool. Personally I HATE PVP games, but if you can play it like WoW with solo adventuring, then I may see about getting into it.

Watch the black and white video on the site about Kingsmouth, and pay attention to the street signs, I got a little tinge of excitement.

Then looking at the monsters, there is a listing for "Deep Ones"

I can't stand games geared towards PvP, some of the best times I can remember in WoW or Star Wars Galaxies was just tooling around, exploring, questing, etc.
I'm hoping this game doesn't put faction specific areas, like the only way to get to the New England areas is by playing an Illuminati or going PvP..

This game looks sick. I'm a big fan of never ever playing MMOs because they destroy your life, but this one might be worth it for at least a little while. We'll see.

The story seems cool, but the cop in this video sounds like he's from Brooklyn, not Massachusetts. Sad
