We’re covering The Book and Lovecraft’s collaboration with Duane W. Rimel, The Tree on the Hill – how does that grab ya?
Thanks to our reader, Joel Nisbet!
GREAT NEWS! Deadbeats will be out this Autumn! Big smiles to our artist I.N.J. Culbard and publisher SelfMadeHero (who just won the coveted Black Tentacle – congrats, guys!).
Don’t forget to donate so we can release those readings of The Hound & The Temple!

Toward the end of the podcast I was genuinely wondering if the two of you were drunkcasting. The line about ALF erotica made soda go up my nose, and now I’m terrified to Google it in case someone has actually written ALF erotica.
Thanks for the shout-out about Cthulhurotica. We’re planning a second volumne for later this year!
I’m never going to google it. If I did, that shadow would be with me for the rest of my life.
Cthulhurotica is the place where sex and madness meet.
“Hi, I’m Sex”
“Nice to meet you Sex, I’m Madness.”
“…”
“well,…this is awkward…”
Well… interesting Lovecraftian’s tidbits. He got to the end with his fist up.
Great as usual chaps.
Nice cover for Deadbeats.
Hey, I like The Tree on the Hill!
Never mind “The Tree on the Hill,” the real story here is that Chad Fifer has never read “The Shadow Out of Time!”
Scandal!
Indeed, my mustache is bristling at Chad Fifer’s scandalous revelation.
Hermes “Triz me jist us.”
;p
“…hookers n’ blow” I was drowsy from a long week but you just perked me right up. God Bless your Pointed little Heads!
Don’t feel so bad about not reading The Shadow Out of Time — I hadn’t read it until about 6 months ago and I’m a huge Lovecraft fan. I don’t see this story in a lot of compilations of Lovecraft or of horror in general, but it’s one of his absolute best.
A real mind f*** story that probably reveals more about Lovecraft’s mythos than even Mountains of Madness.
“Hookers and blow” is an old whaling term.
Chad, I hope you will love “The Shadow Out of Time”, one of my favorite stories of HPL’s.
Yep, it’s Hermes “triz-maj-eestus” meaning “Hermes the thrice-great” – read about him in Manly P. Hall’s “The Secret Teaching of All Ages”.
“Hookers and blow!
Hookers and blow!
Toss yer harpoons
At yon whale as she blows!
Hookers and blow, boys,
Hookers and blow!
Ten leagues from Dover it’s
Hookers and blow!”
Correction: the title is “The Secret Teachings of All Ages.” Great book.
Looky: you guys got a mention:

Really enjoy your podcast guys. I actually live out in Lewiston, about 10 minutes from the Nez Perce reservation. Gonna go out this weekend with some friends and see if we can find your Tree on a Hill.
I think you guys misinterpreted the ending The Book. Not that I really think it merits further scrutiny, but I think the narrator is actually cut off from his body and the last sentence is meant to be ironic.
at least that’s how I read it.
I propose that the listeners of hppodcraft ought not to rest until the erotic works of Trevor Champagne have been unearthed.
